Disregard my previous

Disregard my previous comment. Allison Peters was 9th overall with a time of 19:00 and not 10th as I stated earlier. She could have been given the wrong card and placed 8th but the time is still off.

I came down from Hampton, VA and participated in the 5 K run. It was a wonderfull event and I event won a door prize. I was curious about a call I received from my sister in-law who live there in Danville. She said she looked at the posted results, in the 59-65 age bracket, and saw that the third place winner was Onnajay Goldson. If that is that is correct, I am 61, and I am Onnajay Goldson, and I did not receive a trophy during the trophy ceremony. I know this is rather trivial when one consideres the reason for the whole event. I just want to either clean my name or receive a trophy.

Respectfully,

Onnajay A. Goldson

PS. I ran for my two female cousins, who are both breast cancer survivors, my father-in-law, who survived throat and stomach cancer, and I have a male cousin who is in the fight of his life with colon cancer. I just lost an uncle to pancreatic cancer in Panama.

You were 3rd in the in the 60-64 age group. If you could tell your sister in law to contact Karen Johnston at Karen's Hallmark (434-791-3737) in the mall she can give her your trophy.

not that it really matters

not that it really matters but...when i crossed the finish line i was handed a card with my place on it. and i earned that place by sprinting, all out, against someone who tried to catch me at the end. we crossed the finish line within a hundredth of a second of each other. yet, in the results i am listed three positions lower than what my card said and not within 4 seconds of anyone ahead or behind me. chip timing failed. wasn't really happy with how the results came out. had i not been top ten i probably wouldn't have cared but when the first ten people are coming in i'd expect the results to not get screwed up. but again, we're not elites and this wasn't the olympics so, it really doesn't matter.

It does matter to me if our

It does matter to me if our results are in question. When I participate in an event I expect accurate results or if not at least an explanation of what went wrong. We did a manual back up of the race. If you would send me your name, time, who you out sprinted or any information that would be helpful I will investigate the problem.

Thanks for your input,

L.C. Moore (President of The Danville Running & Fitness Club)

Wes Spivey actually posted

Wes Spivey actually posted these results. He also did the chip timing on race day. If you see him tell him Thank You. A shout out and Thank You to all the race organizers and volunteers. Stop by Karens Hallmark and tell Karen Johnston Thanks, Without her hard work and dedication, this race would not have been possible  Also be sure to visit all the race sponsors and give them your support. Most of all thanks to all the race participants, wether you ran or walk, you supported a worthy cause.
