Operation 2011/365
Submitted by Lee Eagle on Sat, 04/02/2011 - 9:53pm
Operation 2001/365 is still in effect. Only this time LC has logged in first and I have to do a rebuttal. First off LC, Congratultions on qualifying for the Boston marathon. That takes a lot of dedication and a lot of hard work. The offer is still on the table if you decide to run, You can borrow my N Y yankees shirt. The crowd around Fenway Park will love it. I can almost assure you will have a fast time wearing it. I have to admit LC has me on mileage, I have 545 at the 90 day mark, But my objective is to finish the year with excatly 2011 miles.

Just ran Witchback
Submitted by Sarah Moss on Sat, 03/05/2011 - 5:23pm
I decided to give the trail another shot today. I ran on Witchback, another try at prepping for the Green Legs and Hamstrings race next week. This time was much better. I didn't fall, and I didn't get lost! It was pretty hilly, but call me crazy, I like hills. One of my favorite races is the Goodyear Race simply because of the hills. I'm actually pretty sad I have to miss it this year. It falls on the same day as the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC. I will be attending that with 40,000 other happy runners.

If you Want to Go Farther, Get Lost.
Submitted by Sarah Moss on Wed, 02/16/2011 - 5:46pm
I hope this isn't breaking any website rules about linking to other blogs or anything, but I thought you might enjoy reading the blog I just wrote about running the Crooked Stick trail at Angler's Ridge last weekend. It was quite an adventure!! It doesn't seem to want to let me copy and paste, so here's the link:

Submitted by Lee Eagle on Sun, 01/30/2011 - 3:59pm
Well today marks the 30 day point of Operation 2011/365. As of today I have 148 miles and 30 days straight. Still a long way to go. So far I have not had to hit the treadmill, even though those 8 degree mornings were a little rough. My longest run to date has been 12 miles and the shortest has been 3 miles. Most runs are in the 4 - 6 mile range, with long runs being on Saturday mornings. No injuries to report at this point.

Operation 2011/365 update
Submitted by Lee Eagle on Sat, 01/22/2011 - 6:33pm
a little update on my quest to run 2011 miles and 365 days straight. We hit the 100 mile mark this morning haven't missed a day so far.. A good slow easy run this morning ( most runs have been that) Outside temp of 20 with wind chill of 10.So far no injury problems, had to deal with weather and a couple 12 hour days at work, But still managed to get run in. So far all runs have been outside. Started a Live Healthy America team last week, So I have another reason to get out and run. Stay tuned for more updates at a later time

New Year's Resolution
Submitted by Lee Eagle on Sat, 01/08/2011 - 6:08pm
Time to annouce my goal for the coming year to the world. It is what I call Operation 2011/365. my plan is to run 2011 miles total and to run at least once every day. That's 365 days straight.I will either end up injured or in pretty good shape. But at least i will be able to eat pretty much any thing I want. Does any one want to join me in my quest? That means a weekly average of about 39 miles. I am starting off using the Jeff Galloway run/walk method.

Feeling Lucky at the Shamrock 5K
Submitted by Sarah Moss on Fri, 03/26/2010 - 12:24pm
The Shamrock 5K was one of the happiest races I have ever run. The day was beautiful and everyone was in high spirits. I saw a lot of new faces on the course and quite a few familiar ones as well. If there was ever a perfect day for a race, it was March 20, 2010. After a long, cold, dreadful winter everyone was out to stretch their legs and enjoy the warmth.

The Start of a Runner
Submitted by Sarah Moss on Tue, 03/09/2010 - 3:13pm
Running and blogging? Two of my favorite things combined in one lovely place. Even better, since this is a website about running and fitness I can assume that if you are reading this you must have some sort of interest in running, unlike my friends and coworkers whom I am sure simply tolerate me and nod at what they consider to be my complete insanity. I mean afterall who wants to run 10 miles? With nothing chasing me? So I'll take a moment to explain how this obsession started.

I am the epitome of a has-been runner. In college I ran cross country. After college I did an ironman triathlon. I loved to run, bike, train, and do whatever athletic activities I could find. After that I got away from training every day and eventually stopped altogether. Fast forward 12 years and I find myself in the worst shape of my adult life.
